Associação Portuguesa para o Desenvolvimento Regional
The "Portuguese Association for Regional Development" (APDR) is a scientific institution founded in 1984 whose main objective is the promotion of research in the field of Regional Science. APDR is also the Portuguese Section of the European Regional Science Association (ERSA). APDR presently has around 150 effective members mainly working in universities or regional development private or public institutions. Most members are economists, geographers, architects and engineers. Since 1998, APDR organises each year a Meeting that gathers about 200 Portuguese and foreign researchers in the field of Regional Development (the official languages of the Meeting are Portuguese, English, Spanish and French).
Center for Advanced Studies in Management and Economics of the University of Évora
The Center for Advanced Studies in Management and Economics of the University of Évora (CEFAGE-UE) was created in 2006, with the aim of promoting research in the areas of Management and Economics. Since 2009, CEFAGE-UE is funded by Fundação para a Ciência e Teconologia (FCT) and achieved the maximum grade ("Excellent") in its latest research units evaluation.
University of Évora
The University of Évora was founded in 1559 and for two centuries it distinguished itself for its role in the education of the elites and the missionaries of the Kingdom. Restored as a public University in 1973, it has aimed at meeting the new requirements of society. It is specially oriented toward the education of human resources who want to achieve a higher position by merit and good service to the community. The University of Évora has established itself through the high quality of its teaching, associated with perennial values such as mutual respect, desire for knowledge, intellectual honesty and freedom of thought.
