The competitiveness of countries, regions and companies are increasingly dependent on the conditions under which, and each other, make decisions and materialize efficiently and effectively. In this sense, today, perhaps as never before, the capacity and skills for setting and implementing public policies, by the State, and strategies and initiatives by other organizations, is absolutely decisive for the quality of the overall performance of societies in which they operate.
The relevance, appropriateness, consistency and value of public policy issues today are absolutely crucial to the performance conditions of the countries, organizations, individuals, and the territories. First, depending on contexts and regulatory framework which set out the mechanisms of incentives and encouragement as they build, the paradigms and future vision to that point, the level of sophistication and innovation associated with him, and strategic intent print and broadcast, in the medium and long term, the sectors and activities that are intended.
In this sense, this workshop aims to contribute to the discussion of scientific and technical, multidisciplinary, around the processes of planning, design, evaluation and monitoring of public policies. Giving up will also pay particular attention to the problems of applied research to public policy.
Looking also contribute to the process of planning functions and services of the state, regional and central government, local authorities, as well as companies in Portugal is increasingly efficient, informed and qualified, and that making processes decision, and monitoring outcomes, even more assertive, more effective and consistent.
