Guidelines for Papers

The papers must be sent to apdr@mail.telepac.pt, respecting the following standards:

  • the first page must contain the title of the paper, on top, followed by the name, institution and address of the author(s) and by the abstract (maximum 15 lines);
  • accepted papers should be signed by a maximum of 3 co-authors (exceptions for 4 co-authors can be subjected to a case-by-case analysis by the Organising Committee). Proponents of papers signed by more than one author must always provide the full contacts of each one of the co-authors (name, affiliation, postal mail and electronic mail, telephone, fax);
  • the word processor should be Word for Windows version 97 or later;
  • all text (including figures, pictures and tables) should be formatted in black and white (no colour!);
  • the maximum length allowed is 30 pages (including graphics, notes, references, etc.), in A4, Times New Roman 12 font, 1.5 (lines) line spacing; margins should be 2.5 cm right, top and bottom and 3.5 cm left;
  • maps, graphics, charts and tables should be submitted in two separate forms: (1) they should appear in the text exactly as the authors want them to appear; (2) Authors must also send them in separate files (tables and graphics in Excel for Windows version 97 or later, maps and cartograms in Corel Draw version 9 or later). You must send the data upon which graphics are built;

Only papers approved beforehand by the Organising Committee and effectively presented by one (regularly registered) of its authors in a parallel session will be considered as “presented papers” thus being eligible for publication in the Congress CD-ROM.

Co-authors who cannot attend the Congress and therefore prefer not to register must contact the Organising Committee by mail (apdr@mail.telepac.pt) before the Congress certifying that they are indeed co-authors of the paper. This is indispensable to appear as author in the Final Program and in the Congress CD-ROM.
