Escola Superior de Tecnologia de Viseu - Portugal
The “Escola Superior de Tecnologia de Viseu” is located in the Campus Politécnico de Repeses.
Presently the “Escola Superior de Tecnologia de Viseu” offers 10 different courses within Engineering (Civil Engineering, Wood Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mathematics, Business Administration, Informatics and Systems Engineering, Environment Engineering, Mechanics Engineering and Industrial Administration) and Business Administration (Tourism, Business Administration, Commercial and Production Administration, Accounting) and is responsible for the formation of around 3200 students in the specific sectors and areas of significant importance within the region.
The School also offers 4 different pos-graduate courses and develops R&D activities in its core areas, privileging the relationship between superior teaching and local enterprises and contributing to the regional development of Viseu.
THE CITY OF VISEU
Viseu is nowadays a central city node in the interior of Portugal with around 50.000 inhabitants.
Situated in the centre of a mountainous system (in the north by Serras de Leomil, Montemuro e Lapa, in nord-west by Serra do Arado, in the south and southwest by Serras da Estrela and Lousã, and west by the Serra do Caramulo, the one that most influences this area) its altitudes ranges from 400 to 700 meters.
"Antiqua et Nobilissima", Viseu is a region with millions of history and hence very rich not only in its natural, but also architectural and cultural heritage. This was the region where pre-historic peoples lived, among which those who still give name to our nationality: the Lusitans.
Viseu’s region is full of traditions. Artefacts production and commerce is abundant and gastronomy, tastes and flavours, namely those concerning wines with origin in the Dão Region, are very much appreciated.
